A winding driveway follows the path of an old farm access road through the woods before arriving in an open field, establishing a quiet and gradual approach to this small family farm. The home sits lightly within the clearing, positioned to preserve the surrounding trees while taking advantage of the openness of the landscape. The design responds to the clients’ vision of a property where life unfolds both inside the house and across the land itself. The layout organizes the home around a series of courtyards of varying scales, each supporting different activities throughout the day. These outdoor rooms extend the living spaces and provide places for gathering, working, exercising, and spending time outdoors. The house supports daily family life, frequent entertaining, and extended stays while maintaining a direct connection to the rhythms of living on the land.
