Set on a wooded lakefront site, the residence is carefully positioned within the existing tree canopy, creating a gradual sense of arrival while balancing privacy with views toward the water. The client’s extensive art collection became an organizing element of the design, shaping the floor plan, circulation, and relationships between interior spaces. Paintings, sculptures, and objects are given deliberate places throughout the home, establishing connections between art, architecture, and framed views of the surrounding landscape.

An elevated, insulated crawl space raises the home above the lakefront site while creating opportunities for floating entry stairs and terraced planters at the approach. At the rear, the raised floor height opens the living spaces toward elevated views of the trees and lake, with an infinity-edge pool extending the experience toward the water beyond. Throughout the residence, carefully composed sightlines and a restrained architectural language bring the client’s collection and the wooded setting into constant dialogue, creating a home shaped equally by art and landscape.
