Surrounded by protected wetlands, the Eastwind residence is shaped by the constraints and opportunities of its setting. Limited buildable land guided the placement and organization of the home, resulting in a design that fits carefully within a dense canopy of cypress trees while opening views toward the adjacent canal. The architecture responds closely to this environment, allowing the surrounding landscape and water to remain the defining features of the site.

While rooted in modern design principles and clear proportions, the home emphasizes warmth and comfort in its spaces. Traditional architectural forms provide a familiar framework, while contemporary detailing introduces clarity and restraint. Large openings and carefully positioned rooms frame views of the wetlands and water, allowing the changing light and natural setting to become an integral part of daily life within the home.
